WE ARE -  WE ARE THE FROGS!!

                2008 Season Sign-ups!!

The Brookside Swim Team is open to all members age 5 through High School.  Younger swimmers need to be able to swim 1 lap of the pool before the first swim meet.  (Instruction is provided for those members not quite able to complete one lap.) The swim season begins in mid-June and concludes with a swim banquet at the end of July/beginning of August.  It is a short and exciting season and serves as a great way for our younger members to get to know many of the kids they see at the pool.

Registration will take place at Brookside on Saturdays, May 3rd and May 17th from 10:00-12:00.  Team swim suits will be available for try-on and purchase from Personal Best on May 3rd only.  Orders can be placed for suits on the second date of registration.  For information and questions regarding the swim team, please contact Ann Fisher at 215-369-5054, afisher@intraprise.com or Clare Frank 215-428-1767, garyclarefrank@comcast.net.  Go Bullfrogs!!

BULLFROGS CELEBRATE THEIR SEASON AS THEIR FAMILY REUNION COMES TO AN END!

MAKE GOOD CHOICES - KEEP LOOKING FORWARD!!

The Bullfrogs experienced another triumphant season.  Filled with laughter, song, and victories, our family continued to teach the league the right way to create a successful team.

Two themes could be taken away from the annual Brookside Bullfrogs celebration: Make Good Choices and Keep Looking Forward.

The latter theme connects to the Bullfrogs inevitable need to say goodbye to seven leaders/family members as they turn the page on one chapter in their lives.  The message received at the banquet was to embrace your past, live in the moment, and keep looking forward.  Our seniors will take on new challenges and obstacles, applying the lessons they learned during their time with the Bullfrogs.  The remaining Bullfrogs must accept the challenge to fill the leadership roles left vacant by our departing seniors.

The former theme was based on the addition of a memorial to Michael Brayshaw, a former Brookside swimmer.  Michael was a member of our family as a young swimmer; smiling, laughing, playing sharks and minnows, and shouting Boom Chicka Boom at the top of his lungs.  Unfortunately, as Michael entered his teenage years, he became influence by negative forces.  Rather than surrounding himself with the positive influence of the Brookside family, Michael chose to leave the team and embrace drugs and alcohol.  His addiction to heroin not only caused his personal destruction but the impact of his decisions on his family were enormous.  Michael, who died at the age of 21, could have led a very different life if not for the choices he made.  His mother Linda’s goal is to prevent other families from the pain of losing a loved one to the disease of addiction.  As members of a close family, we all have the responsibility to look out for one another.  Talk to each other.  Embrace one another.  Love one another.  With this attitude, may we never lose another Bullfrog to the deadly disease of addiction.

Carey, Ginna, Bill, and Jake would like to thank you for inviting us into your lives for another season.  We never take your trust and faith in us for granted.

Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming...

Until 2008:)

Your coaches

HISTORY IN THE MAKING LAST NIGHT AT THE POND

First ever Inter-Divisional meet takes place between Brookside and Northampton Swim Teams.

Forget Barry Bonds and the chase for Hammerin' Hank's homerun record.  Never mind about the Phillies reaching a 10,000 loss milestone.  The Bullfrogs and Northampton made history yesterday by competing in the first ever inter-division meet last night at The Pond.  Great races could be seen in almost every event.  Not only to determine first and second, but also third and fourth positions.  The Bullfrogs unleashed a flurry of transitional cheers that brought the capacity crowd to its feet.  With Bullfrogs dancing behind the blocks, nothing could stop Brookside from winning this historic meet.  WAY TO GO BULLFROGS!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BULLFROG WINNERS

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!!!

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING IGNITES THE PSC-BROOKSIDE MEET.

The horrible weather that always seems to follow the PSC-Brookside meet made a lengthy appearance last night at "The Pond."  After 15 events, lightning was spotted and the meet was shut down immediately.  A storm that at first glance appeared to need only 10 minutes to pass, took an hour of meet time.  Teammates passed the time by playing the game SIGNS and telling jokes.  The meet resumed without another delay and concluded well after 10:00 pm.  Spirits remained high all evening and the meet concluded with an amazing 50 fly by Bridget Kelly, Allie Borda, and Elizabeth Reeves.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BULLFROG WINNERS

After taking a loss at LMT the Bullfrogs came storming back by earning high marks and breaking records at the 25th annual LMT Invitational.  Several of our swimmers earned personal records and the 100 Freestyle meet record for 18 and under girls was broken by Catharine Reeves!  Way to go Bullfrogs.  Five members of the team travel to Doylestown for FANNY FEST, an odd age meet sponsored by the Fanny Chapman Dolphins of the Central Bucks swim league.  GOOD LUCK BULLFROGS

WHAT A WEEK WE ARE HAVING!!!

ODD AGE, AQUA P, WARRINGTON, and NEWTOWN.  THESE MEETS KICK OFF A WEEK CHOCK FULL OF FUN:)

The Bullfrogs of Brookside came out of the gate full speed ahead this week.  After the longest pre-season in Brookside history, thanks to inclement weather and national celebrations, the Bullfrogs welcomed the 2007 competitive season with bang.  The week began with two invitational meets.  Twenty-four members of our squad traveled to Somerton for the Odd Age meet and Newtown for the annual Aqua Pentathlon.  Several of our swimmers placed in the top 12, including a few top six finishes.

Monday and Tuesday featured two very exciting head to head match ups with Red Division powerhouses.  The Dragons of Warrington hosted the Bullfrogs on Monday night and the Barracudas of Newtown traveled from the next town over to challenge Brookside on Tuesday evening.  Each meet brought exhilaration and fun.  The team focused on the details, showed their heart and determination, and came out victorious at the end of each night.  WAY TO GO BULLFROGS!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BULLFROG WINNERS

WELCOME BACK BULLFROGS

YOUR BULLFROG COACHES (Carey, Ginna, and Bill) WANT TO WELCOME YOU TO THE 2007 SUMMER SWIMMING SEASON!!!

Mission Statement / PhilosophyOur job as a swim team, first and foremost, is to mold our swimmers into quality individuals.  Brookside Bullfrogs are respectful, kind, generous, caring, supportive, encouraging, disciplined, and passionate.  Our philosophy is different than many teams, whose main purpose is to produce athletes who simply win the race.  Our swimmers will win just as many races, but we will emphasize that our swimming champions will be champion people as well.

An unwavering focus on sportsmanship, self-esteem, and belonging will be found at Brookside.  We strive to instill the love we possess for our life-long sport into our swimmers.  We look to inspire our swimmers to practice hard, swim with heart and never lose sight of the fact that we are at Brookside to have fun!!  WE ARE...
